What is the origin of Saint Nicholas?
Before Santa Claus, there was a real man. A bishop, a miracle worker, a protector of children and travelers. And his story is more powerful than any Christmas tale.
Saint Nicholas was born in Patara, an ancient Mediterranean city in what is now Turkey. His original name, Nikélaos, means "victory of the people." The forms "Nicholas" and "Claus" are derived from this.
From childhood he felt a deep love for Jesus. He decided to imitate him: helping the poor, healing the sick, practicing forgiveness, and blessing children.
From a wealthy family, she dedicated her inheritance to serving those who suffered, becoming a model of compassion and dedication.
Later he became Bishop of Myra, where he spread the Teachings of Jesus and was so beloved that people considered him a living saint.
Currently, he is a Being of Light who continues to assist humanity from the inner planes.

Miracles in the life of Saint Nicholas
His parents passed away when he was young. He used his entire fortune to save lives and help those who were suffering.
One of his most famous miracles was the rescue of three girls at risk of falling into prostitution. At night, Saint Nicholas would climb onto the roof and secretly and lovingly drop bags of gold down the chimney.
On another occasion, during a famine in Myra, he arranged for a ship to unload its supplies to feed the people. When the ship sailed, its holds miraculously filled again.
He also resurrected three children who had been murdered by an evil man. His fame as a holy protector of children spread throughout the East and West.

Where are the relics of Saint Nicholas? What is Saint Nicholas oil?
After his death, the body of Saint Nicholas began to exude a fragrant and healing liquid known as "Saint Nicholas oil," a phenomenon that continues to this day.
When his remains were moved to Bari, Italy, the liquid continued to flow throughout the journey, and it can still be obtained today at the Basilica of Saint Nicholas in Bari.
Due to the danger of Islamic invasion in Turkey, Christian merchants secretly moved his relics, which is why he is also considered the patron saint of sailors, travelers and, symbolically, of repentant thieves.
There are accounts of miracles such as that of one of his icons in the United States that also began to exude healing oil.

Why is Saint Nicholas associated with Santa Claus?
Saint Nicholas passed away on December 6th, a date on which many cultures celebrate Saint Nicholas Day. His life was filled with acts of generosity, especially towards children. Over time, these stories gave rise to the figure of Santa Claus, who comes down the chimney on December 24th to bring gifts to children who have been good. Thus, Saint Nicholas, from the inner realms, continues to radiate his Love, Provision, and Joy to humanity.
